Independent feasibility & acquisition evaluation

Feasibility studies in South Africa
before you commit the capital.

We test the real operating economics of a business, property or project — including the recurring costs sellers and promoters routinely leave out of the model.

What it is

A feasibility study is an independent evaluation of whether a proposed acquisition, expansion or project can generate an acceptable return under realistic operating conditions, tested against verified cost, throughput, compliance and logistics data.

What the engagement covers

  1. 1.Verify the seller's or promoter's numbers

We trace claimed revenue, throughput and cost back to primary records, because headline figures in an information memorandum are usually best-case and incomplete.

  2. 2.Rebuild the operating cost base

We rebuild the full annual cost of running the asset — labour, utilities, maintenance, compliance, insurance and logistics — which is where most optimistic models fail.

  3. 3.Test throughput and logistics capacity

We establish the realistic sustainable output of the facility or operation and the distance-to-market cost, rather than relying on nameplate capacity.

  4. 4.Assess regulatory and compliance exposure

We identify licences, permits, environmental and statutory requirements that must be in place, along with the cost and time to obtain or restore them.

  5. 5.Produce a go, fix or walk-away conclusion

You receive a defensible recommendation with a sensitivity model, breakeven point and the conditions under which the deal becomes viable.

Common questions

  1. What does a feasibility study cost in South Africa?

Nemico's fixed-scope pre-screen is quoted as a definitive flat fee after your free discovery call. A full study is quoted per project because the fee depends on asset type, number of sites and site visits, and it is fixed before work begins.

  2. How long does a feasibility study take?

A pre-screen is returned inside 14 days. A full study on an operating asset typically takes four to eight weeks, driven mainly by how quickly the seller releases records.

  3. Which sectors do you evaluate?

Agriculture and agri-processing, energy and infrastructure, real estate, and finance and technology operations — the sectors where Nemico has direct evaluation experience.

  4. Can the study be used to support finance applications?

Yes. The model, assumptions and source of every figure are documented so a funder or investment committee can interrogate the conclusion independently.

  5. What if the study says the deal does not work?

That is a valid and frequently the most valuable outcome; the report sets out the conditions or price at which the transaction would become viable.
